Before you start

Use a working GENMON installation and a CentriConnect monitor registered in MyPropane. Have your Device ID, Device Authentication Code, and User ID ready.

The current add-on requires all three values. In the MyPropane app, open Settings → Integration to access the details for your registered device. Contact Centri support if you need help.

Enable the CentriConnect add-on

  1. Open GENMON’s Add-Ons page and enable Centri My Propane External Tank Fuel Monitor.
  2. Enter your Device ID, Device Authentication Code, and User ID.
  3. Keep Poll Frequency at 288 minutes or longer. The current add-on enforces this minimum, which is within the API limit of one request per device per hour.
  4. Save the settings. After GENMON restarts and retrieves a reading, look for the fuel gauge on the main interface.

Choose your notifications

  • Check Sensor Battery: sends a notification when the monitor reports a critical battery level.
  • Check for Missed Readings: notifies you if no reading has arrived for more than 50 hours by default.

Configure outbound email in GENMON’s Settings if you want email notifications.

To adjust the missed-reading threshold, set a positive whole number of hours with reading_timeout in /etc/genmon/gencentriconnect.conf. This value is separate from the polling interval.

# In the existing [gencentriconnect] section
poll_frequency = 288
reading_timeout = 50

Understand reading frequency

Centri devices report 4–6 times per day. GENMON retrieves the latest available data; querying more often does not trigger a new device reading.

Keep requests at least one hour apart for each device, including requests from other applications using the same device.
